The most exciting new products we have available are the amazing Groenfontein Toy Project teddies and stuffed animals. These handmade fair trade soft toys are lovingly crafted by the women involved in the project and we think they are super! The giraffes come in a range of colours so please make your selection from the drop-down box above. Each giraffe comes with a tag with details of the project and the name of the woman that lovingly hand made it.
The Groenfontein Toy Project is a skills-development and employment initiative outside Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo. The project was started in 2011 in response to the high levels of unemployment among women living in our beautiful, yet struggling valley – many of whom have been without consistent work their entire adult lives.
All our products are original and 100% handmade by the team of dedicated women. Authentic and quirky, they’re the ideal alternative gift at baby showers, the perfect décor item for a child’s bedroom, and a happy addition to any home.
Please note that this item is not a toy and is unsuitable for children under 3 due to small parts.
